Recap
Average conditions yesterday morning with a building close-range SW swell into the afternoon, cleanest and best today, easing back from 3ft with offshore winds.
The swell will continue to ease as winds remain favourable all day.
This week and next (Aug 3 - 11)
Tomorrow looks small to tiny, with a small increase in tricky W/SW and SW swell due Friday, generated by a broad, weakening low that's currently south of Western Australia.
Mixed fetches of pre-frontal W/NW gales followed by weaker S/SW winds should generate a mix swells Friday to 2ft to possibly 3ft and with strengthen N/NE winds, favouring some locations over others.
The swell should ease into Saturday from 2-3ft and a small, intense low moving across us will bring fresh and gusty W/NW winds, tending W/SW later.
There might be some small, localised SW swell in the mix through the afternoon from the low, with easing surf due Sunday from 2ft+ with N/NW tending N winds.
Later in the day Sunday, a good pulse of SW groundswell is due, peaking Monday, generated by a strong low that's due to form east of the Heard Island region tomorrow. A fetch of gale-force W-W/NW winds should produce a moderate sized swell, with it due to build to 2-3ft later Sunday before peaking Monday to 3ft, easing thereafter.
Winds look favourable and light N'ly Sunday afternoon, while a trough will bring an evening S'ly change that looks to persist into Monday, creating bumpy conditions.
We'll confirm this on Friday.
Following this the outlook is slow so make the most of the current and coming swells.
