Recap
Inconsistent sets through yesterday with eastern ends of beaches fairing the cleanest, tiny today and best for beginners at similar spots.
This weekend and next week (Mar 5 - 11)
Tomorrow will be a lay day with tiny surf and a light, morning W/NW breeze ahead of afternoon sea breezes.
A trough and strengthening low off the southern NSW coast will bring strong S/SW winds on Saturday evening which will persist out of the S'th Sunday morning before easing and tending S/SE through the afternoon.
Luckily winds are due to revert back to the N/NW on Monday morning ahead of gusty E/NE afternoon winds as another trough approaches from the west.
Swell wise we've got some good energy due from Sunday through most of next week owing to a progression of strong polar fronts through our swell window.
The first is currently weakening south-west of us and will produce a kick in size on Sunday to 2ft+ but with those onshore winds, holding 2ft+ Monday with a reinforcing swell and those better winds.
Tuesday looks poor as the trough moves through bringing a strong S/SW change but winds should ease and tend light W/NW into Wednesday morning when a new moderate sized W/SW swell fills in. This will be generated by a healthy polar frontal system moving in from a position east of the Heard Island region tomorrow, under the country early next week.
A good fetch of strong to near gale-force W/SW winds will be projected east, with the swell due to build later Tuesday but peak Wednesday to 2-3ft across Clifton.
Thursday looks a bit smaller but clean in the morning ahead of sea breezes with 1-2ft surf to to continue into Friday before becoming tiny Saturday.
Longer term the outlook goes a little quiet so make the most of the coming swells. Have a great weekend!
