Recap

Tiny surf yesterday, but today our strong mix of new W/SW swells came in at 3ft this morning with a W/SW breeze, strengthening this afternoon as the swell peaks more to 4ft.

This weekend and next week (Feb 19 - 25)

Our current mix of building W/SW swells will peak this afternoon/evening, easing back through tomorrow from the 3ft range across Clifton on the sets.

Conditions will be great tomorrow morning with a light N/NW offshore ahead of weak S/SE sea breezes, creating a full, fun day of surf.

Sunday will see a fun reinforcing pulse of mid-period W/SW swell, generated by a strengthening frontal system that’ll move through tomorrow, keeping Clifton around 2-3ft. Conditions look favourable all day again with a N/NW tending W/NW breeze, shifting stronger W/SW on Monday as a cold front pushes across us.

This frontal system will be broad but relatively weak and produce another pulse od mid-period W/SW-SW swell through Monday afternoon and Tuesday. Size wise Clifton should build back to 2-3ft into the afternoon Monday, easing slowly from a similar size Tuesday, then down from 2ft on the sets Wednesday.

While Monday looks bumpy, conditions will clean up again into Tuesday with a light NW offshore ahead of strong E/NE sea breezes. N/NE tending strong E/NE winds on Wednesday will continue to create favourable conditions with the swell bottoming out Thursday as a weak change moves through.

Longer term there’s nothing too major on the cards but weak fronts should keep small levels of swell hitting Clifton into Friday and Saturday. More on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
