Small, persistent and clean waves
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 8th July)
Best Days: Keen surfers tomorrow through Saturday
Recap
A strong kick in swell yesterday though not the cleanest, much better today and with plenty of size hanging in the mix.
This week and weekend (Jul 9 - 12)
Our current swell is expected to ease further into tomorrow, down from 1-2ft and with a N/NW tending E/NE breeze.
The surf is unlikely to go flat through Friday and the weekend as an elongated and slim fetch of W/SW gales sits in our southern swell window today and tomorrow, with one final projection east tomorrow evening.
This should keep inconsistent 1-1.5ft waves hitting Clifton if not for the odd bigger set at times. Conditions will remain favourable Friday and clean, similar Saturday with variable afternoon sea breezes.
Come Sunday winds will go funky as a deepening low starts to encroach on us in the Tasman Sea.
This system will dominate our winds through early next week, swinging them to the east and swell wise, there's nothing significant on the cards for us. The East Coast should see a bit of swell though, so check their Forecaster Notes.
