Tiny surf continues
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 26th June)
Best Days: No good days, check the East Coast
Recap
A tiny though fun and easing E/SE swell yesterday from 1-1.5ft, really micro today.
This weekend and next week (June 27 – Jul 3)
The models are showing a slight increase in size tomorrow, but the source of the swell was a mid-latitude low over WA, way too north of our swell window to generate any real size.
Instead I wouldn’t expect anything over 0.5-1ft tomorrow morning, fading thereafter.
The outlook for the rest of the week remains tiny with no significant storms due to develop through our swell windows. A very distant long-period swell is showing on the charts Tuesday afternoon and Wednesday morning though again there’s no real size attached to it.
With this the East Coast Forecaster Notes are worth a look over the coming period.
Longer term a significant mid-latitude frontal progression moving in from the west looks to at this stage be too far north in location to really generate any size for us again, and once it pushes across us late next week, looks to be weak in nature.
Therefore there’s still nothing too significant on the cards long term, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
