Make the most of the weekend
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 19th June)
Best Days: Selected spots Saturday, Sunday morning
Recap
Fun and clean easing 2-3ft surf yesterday following Wednesday's strong pulse, with tiny leftovers into today.
This weekend and next week (Jun 20 - 26)
With the swell bottoming out today, we look towards tomorrow's good new pulse of S/SW. The polar storm linked to this swell is now passing south of us while weakening, but we should see a good kick in size to 3ft through the afternoon across Clifton tomorrow, then easing from 2-3ft on Sunday.
Winds are still looking N/NE tending E/NE tomorrow, favouring selected breaks, while Sunday should be fun with a morning variable breeze, tending SW through the afternoon.
The board low that's expected to encompass us through the weekend won't generate any E/SE swell until early next week when it's expected to shift slowly east. This will see a fetch of strong SE winds aimed into us from Monday, kicking up a junky windswell to 2ft or so and with poor conditions.
Once this swell faces and cleans up later next week the outlook is a little unsure. We may see some good W/SW groundswell late week and into next weekend, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
