Nothing of note until next week
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 25th May)
Best Days: No good days, check the East Coast
Recap
Friday's large groundswell which hit the front page of the papers on Saturday continued to offer solid waves, giving into an onshore change through the day and poor conditions Sunday as the swell became smaller. Today was clean with small 2ft sets hanging on the coast.
This week and weekend (May 26 - 31)
As touched on in the last couple of updates, while the charts look busy with blobs of swell, all the activity is north of our swell window and aimed up into Western Australia and South Australia.
A strong node of the Long Wave Trough that's currently across WA will be slow moving and we won't see any favourable storms developing in our swell window until the weekend. This would give us swell for early next week.
The models are showing spikes of surfable 1-2ft of swell but they're incorrectly combining swells and we'll lucky to see 1ft waves over the coming days.
In the meantime try the East Coast Forecaster Notes for more surfing options.
