Best Days: Tomorrow, Friday beginners, Sunday through Tuesday for the keen

Recap

Tiny waves yesterday but our new building SW swell for today came in at a clean 2ft this morning but the peak due this afternoon to 3ft will come with onshore winds.

This week and weekend (May 14 - 17)

The front linked to today’s building swell is currently moving across us today in a weakened form, bringing the onshore change.

The swell is due to peak overnight but we should still see god 2-3ft sets tomorrow, easing slowly through the day and then tiny Friday to 1-1.5ft.

Conditions will be much better tomorrow with a N/NW breeze, shifting W/NW later in the day and then N/NW tending variable Friday, ideal for beginners.

We then move into a tricky period of westerly swells, generated by a progression of poorly structured and aligned fronts moving in from the west.

Fetches within these fronts will be W-W/NW and the resulting swells for the weekend will be tiny.

The strongest fetch of severe-gale W/NW winds may generate 1-2ft of swell for Sunday, back to 1-1.5ft through Monday and Tuesday.

With this in mind make the most of the coming days of swell and check back Friday for any improvement to the incoming westerly swells.
