Fun S'ly swell for the weekend
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 6th November)
Best Days: Saturday, early Wednesday, Thursday morning
Recap
Tiny waves again yesterday but a late increase in swell has held into this morning with fun and clean 2ft+ sets across Clifton. Winds have since swung onshore.
This weekend and next week (Nov 9 - 11)
Our fun pulse of S'ly swell for tomorrow is still on track, with today's mix of W/SW and SW swell due to ease.
A good and broad fetch of strong S'ly winds are being generated south of us, projected up through our southern swell window.
We should see 2-3ft of S'ly swell tomorrow morning across Clifton, easing slightly into the afternoon and down from 1-2ft Sunday, mixed in with some mid-period W/SW swell also to 1-2ft.
Winds are looking favourable and W/NW-NW tomorrow morning, shifting W/SW mid-afternoon, while Sunday will see unfavourable W/SW tending S'ly winds.
Monday will be cleaner all day but tiny.
We've got an upgrade in the swell due Tuesday/Wednesday across Clifton, with a tight and intense low now due to form west-southwest of us Sunday.
A fetch of gale to severe-gale W/SW winds are forecast, with the low projecting slowly east and then weakening while moving across us Tuesday.
A moderate sized W/SW groundswell should be seen Tuesday, building to 3ft+ later in the day, easing from a similar size Wednesday morning but W/SW winds will create poor conditions on the former, N/NW at dawn Wednesday ahead of a shift back to the W/SW.
Following this there's plenty more activity into the end of the week but the models diverge regarding this, so check back here on Monday. Have a great weekend!
