Tiny ahead of better W/SW swell next week
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 27th April)
Best Days: Later Tuesday onwards next week
Recap
A new inconsistent SW groundswell came in at a good 2ft across Clifton yesterday morning, easing back to a tiny 1ft today.
This week and next (Apr 26 - 29)
A strengthening but unfavourably tracking low under us this evening and early tomorrow may generate a small pulse of SW swell to 1ft+ later tomorrow before fading through Friday.
Clean conditions are due most of the day with a W/NW tending variable breeze tomorrow and then N/NW winds Friday.
Saturday is expected to remain tiny, but into Sunday a small lift in acute W'ly swell is due from a south-east tracking low across us through the early morning.
Another tiny pulse to 1ft may be see later in the day, fading Monday under W/NW and then N/NW winds.
Longer term, as touched on last update, we've got some good fun groundswell activity on the cards from Tuesday next week as a strong node of the Long Wave Trough stalls over the Bight and then slowly continues east later next week.
A flurry of very strong but poorly aligned (for us) frontal activity is due, with an initial acute W/SW groundswell is due later Tuesday but more so Wednesday to 2-3ft across Clifton. A couple of secondary similar sized swells are then due into the end of the week and maybe weekend, but more on this Friday.
