Tuesday for small clean waves
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 25th April)
Best Days: Tuesday, exposed breaks Wednesday
Recap
A kick in swell but with average conditions on Saturday, while Sunday saw the swell hang in better than expected with good clean 3ft sets under offshore winds.
Today the swell was still around 2ft with offshore tending variable winds.
This week (Apr 26 - 29)
Tomorrow's inconsistent long-range SW groundswell didn't develop as favourably as forecast on Friday and we'll likely just see this swell keep inconsistent 1-2ft sets hitting Clifton through the morning, fading later in the day and then tiny for the rest of the week.
Conditions will be great all day with an offshore tending variable wind tomorrow and then N'ly winds for most of the week (NW Thursday).
Longer term the outlook remains average until later next week as a strong node of the Long Wave Trough stalling in the Bight, directing cold fronts up into WA and SA.
This is too far north of our swell window and we won't see any decent size until the progression moves east and over us hopefully later next week and weekend. Check back from Wednesday onwards for updates when this may occur.
