Good swell tomorrow but with average winds
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 11th December)
Best Days: Dawn Saturday, tiny clean waves Sunday morning
Recap
A good pulse of W/SW swell yesterday to 2ft with offshore winds, easing back from 1-1.5ft today.
This weekend and next week (Dec 12 - 18)
We've got another good pulse of W/SW veering SW swell due tomorrow across the region, produced by a relatively weak but favourably aligned polar front that's currently pushing across us.
The swell should peak tomorrow morning to the 2ft range with the possibility of the odd bigger set but winds are an issue with an onshore W/SW breeze due. At dawn we're likely to see a W'ly, but it will be short-lived.
Cleaner conditions are due Sunday but the swell will be tiny and fading from 1-1.5ft.
Unfortunately there's nothing major on the cards at all for next week besides tiny 1ft sets due Monday and Tuesday with favourable winds.
Next weekend we may see a better SW swell to 2ft or so, but we'll have another look at this on Monday. Have a great weekend!
