Poor outlook ahead
Eastern Tasmanian Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday December 17th)
Best Days: Late tomorrow north-east swell magnets for the desperate
Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)
- Small, weak N/NE windswell tomorrow with gusty N/NW winds ahead of a late S/SE change
Recap
Tiny surf yesterday with a small pulse of new E/SE swell today for the keen.
This weekend and next week (Dec 18 - 24)
Down, down, down.
Unfortunately the trough moving in from the west, squeezing a strong high in the Tasman Sea is weaker and we'll be seeing a weaker fetch of N/NE winds developing down the coast this afternoon and evening.
The trough will move through earlier, keeping winds from the N/NW all day tomorrow ahead of an evening S/SE change but size wise we're only due to see sets to 2ft across the north-east magnets, tiny elsewhere.
Following this the westerly storm track will fire up across us during next week but all the activity will be too north in latitude for us to see any decent S'ly swell.
Into next weekend we may see a NE windswell developing across the coast but we'll have a closer look at this on Monday. Have a great weekend!
