Recap

Good waves with a gradual drop in E'ly swell but it's had some longevity and there were still fun sets on offer this morning.

This week and weekend (Dec 16 - 19)

The end of the week isn't to interesting surf wise with the swell due to become tiny through tomorrow out of the E while a S'ly change pushing up the coast isn't due to bring much in the way of S'ly windswell.

On Friday we'll likely see a small pulse of E/SE swell to 1-2ft from a weak fetch of SE winds currently sitting off the southern tip of New Zealand's South Island.

Winds look favourable for northern corners and NW tending gusty NE.

We then look at the N/NE windswell due into the weekend and this swell looks to be a touch weaker than forecast on Monday with the fetch of N/NE winds liked to it not being quite as consolidated or as well angled into us.

Still building surf to 2-3ft is due into Saturday afternoon but with N/NW tending strong N winds, likely shifting N/NW again ahead of an evening S'ly change.

With the earlier timing of the change Sunday will see smaller, 2ft leftovers and N/NW winds.

Following this there's still nothing major on the cards unfortunately so I hope you made the most of the now easing E'ly swell episode. Check the South Arm notes for a wave next week.
