Hopes ride on the weekend
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Wednesday 18th July)
Best Days: Saturday and Sunday morning south swell magnets
Recap
A fresh pulse of E'ly swell seen into Monday afternoon faded as quickly as it arrived, with small to tiny leftovers yesterday morning under a strong to gale-force N/NW wind.
This morning there's nothing left in the tank with the swell all but gone.

There's no swell due through the rest of the week with strong NW winds tomorrow, and straighter offshore W'ly winds on Friday.
Our small spike of S'ly swell for the weekend is still on the cards, with the remnants of a severe low that formed under WA yesterday due to drift across us Friday.
A broad fetch of strong SW winds are due to be generated in our southern swell window, producing a small spike of S'ly swell for Saturday, coming in at 2ft to maybe 3ft across south magnets, easing back from 2ft Sunday morning.
Winds look favourable and offshore from the W Saturday, NW on Sunday.
Following this there's nothing significant on the cards, with an approaching front bringing strong N winds Monday that may produce a small acute N'ly windswell, but we'll review this on Friday.
