Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 4th Jun)

Best Days: Tuesday morning, Wednesday morning, desperate surfers Friday morning

Recap

Not the best conditions on Saturday morning but better as the the swell built through the day in protected spots.

Sunday a strong E'ly swell pushed in with good options in protected spots, pumping today with the swell steadying along with better winds.

Today’s Forecaster Notes are brought to you by Rip Curl

This weekend and next week (Jun 5 - 10)

The good E”ly groundswell event has peaked and it's a simple case of downwards from here.

The strong Tasman Low responsible for the weekend's and today's swell has since weakened and started to drift east across New Zealand, with the swell generating fetch moving away from us.

We should still see fun 3-4ft sets, if not for the odd bigger one during the morning, easing steadily through the day, back from a smaller 2ft+ Wednesday morning.

Winds should be W/SW early, giving into S'ly change through the morning, SE into the afternoon.

Wednesday will then see N/NW winds tending N/NE into the afternoon and then strengthening through Thursday and Friday but not too well aligned in our swell window.

We're looking at strong N'ly winds off the southern NSW coast, extending down to us producing a small acute N'ly windswell.

With the N'ly direction we're probably only looking at maybe 1-2ft sets late Thursday but with N winds, more around 2ft+ Friday morning, but fading quickly with a NW change.

Unfortunately there's nothing due into the weekend, and nothing on the cards until possibly next week when we may see a new Tasman Low forming, but we'll provide any update on this Wednesday.
