Excellent Sunday and Monday with a good S/SE groundswell
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 22nd July)
Best Days: Sunday, Monday, Tuesday morning
Recap
Nothing to really surf the last couple of days with tiny amounts of unsurfable swell.
This weekend and next week (Jul 23 - 29)
Tomorrow will remain flat, but a strong broad low pressure system moving across us through the afternoon will project a fetch of gale to severe-gale SW tending S/SW winds up past our coast.
This is expected to produce a good S'ly groundswell for Sunday morning, coming in at 3-4ft across south facing beaches, but a better aligned S/SE groundswell is due to fill in through around midday.
This will be produced by a better aligned fetch of severe-gale S/SE winds projecting north through our southern swell window tomorrow.
South facing beaches should kick to a larger 4-5ft+ or so under offshore W'ly tending NW winds.
A easing trend is then due through Monday from a good 4-5ft as offshore NW winds continue, smaller Tuesday.
For the rest of next week we'll see a series of strong polar fronts pushing across us, but most of the activity is too west in nature to influence us until maybe Thursday. More on this Monday though. Have a great weekend!
