Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 24th June)

Best Days: Monday afternoon, Tuesday

Recap

Tiny leftovers out of the SE the last couple of days, nothing to get excited about or go surfing in.

This weekend and next (Jun 25 – Jul 1)

There's not much hope for surfing this weekend unfortunately as a cold front pushing across is today will hardly have any strength to generate any decent swell.

A weak fetch of unfavourably aligned SW-S/SW winds will struggle to provide 1-2ft waves at south swell magnets, fading through Sunday.

The cold-outbreak linked to the front moving across us will stall in the southern Tasman Sea through the weekend, with a fetch of S'ly gales just sitting in our swell window through Sunday.

With this some small SE swell is due to spread out radially towards us, kicking Monday afternoon to 2ft or so and holding a similar size Tuesday before easing late, tiny into Wednesday. This swell will be more so for the northern half of the East Coast rather than Eagle Hawk Neck and south region. Winds look good and offshore from the W/NW through the period.

Longer term there's still nothing major on the cards besides some better S'ly swell next weekend, but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend.
