Tiny to flat for the period
Eastern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 29th April)
Best Days: No good days, check the South Arm forecast
Recap
Tiny amounts of NE swell yesterday and today but pretty much unsurfable.
This weekend and next week (Apr 30 – May 6)
Tiny amounts of NE windswell will persist tomorrow, building into the afternoon and fading Sunday, but the fetch generating it doesn't really extend down to us. So we're probably only likely to see small 1-2ft sets max at north-east swell magnets later tomorrow and early Sunday.
Conditions will be less than ideal at these locations though with NW winds tomorrow and Sunday morning ahead of an afternoon W/SW change.
Unfortunately the rest of the forecast period is void of any major swells as the Southern Ocean fires up to our west, directing strong frontal activity up towards South Australia and Victoria.
This won't be favourable for us with no swell at all expected off these.
We pan our eye to developments in the Coral Sea, with a strengthening easterly trade-flow below Fiji likely to encroach into the Tasman Sea above New Zealand later next week.
This could provide some small fun E/NE swell from next weekend, but we'll monitor this in future updates. Have a great weekend!
