This weekend and next week (Mar22-Mar28)

Central QLD: Small, just rideable surf builds next week

Still some small rideable waves on low tide

Still some fun little waves about with plenty more to come.

A tradewind fetch which was being enhanced by a trough off the SEQLD coast has slackened so we’ll see E’ly swells come down a notch into the through Sat. They should remain small but rideable on low tides into Sun and just rideable on Mon.

High pressure will be in the Tasman next week with ridge along the sub-tropics and a tradewind fetch enhanced by a long monsoon trough extending from the Indian Ocean across the north of the continent out to the South Pacific Island chains.

Plenty of tradewinds in the Coral Sea next week

Generally speaking we’ll see that enhanced trade flow develop early next week with building swells from Tues  with juicier options on the table later next week as the trough dips southwards.

We’ll have too see how that evolves, it may dip too far south out of the CQ swell window or it may stay further northwards.

Either way plenty of surf expected next week.
