A bit more action next week on a SE surge
Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Fri Aug 30th)
This weekend and next week (Aug31-Sep 6)
Central QLD: A bit more action next week on a SE surge
Small peelers on low tide but ruined by N’ly winds.
No change to the outlook. A sub-tropical low near Fiji with a persistent, distant fetch is supplying tiny waves and this should continue into the weekend and next week.
We’ll see stronger SE surf develop Wed/Thurs as a SE surge propagates up the QLD coast from a strong high pressure ridge. Expect that to ease back Fri but remain surfable as tradewinds in the Coral Sea hold rideable waves into next weekend.
We’ll see how that looks on Mon but it looks like a few surfable days ahead from mid next week.
Check back Mon and have a great weekend!
