Central QLD Forecaster Notes by Steve Shearer (updated on Wed June 5th)

This week and next week (June5-June 14)

Central QLD: A few small rideable days , but looking like tiny surf will become the norm as winter sets in

Just rideable on low tides

We’ve got high pressure over the continent, a weak cell in the Coral Sea and a cell over New Zealand, with generally weak pressure gradients over the East Coast. Light winds in the Coral Sea are leading to tiny surf.

A trough developing on Thurs/Fri should see some small E swell develop later Fri and extend into Sat. Surf will ease into Sun so grab a surf those days.

Trough in Coral Sea generates small E swell into the weekend

Into next week and a major winter pattern unfolds as a strong low pushes into the Tasman.

That should see tiny/flat surf for most of next week at this stage.

Let’s see how it looks on Fri.
