This week and next week (May29-June 7)

Central QLD: Plenty of fun days ahead into the weekend, becoming tiny next week

Fun waves through until the weekend

The gist of the current pattern is a large high moving into the Tasman with an approaching trough and cut-off low. The high is generating E’ly tradewinds in the Coral Sea with a fun sized surf running across CQ and expected to last into the weekend.

High in the Tasman generating fun waves

The low sweeps to the south this weekend while the trough buds off and forms a trough of low pressure off the NSW Central/South coast, disrupting the trade flow in the Coral Sea.

Lifeless Coral Sea as we move into winter

Thus we’ll see surf start to ease from Sun and at this stage, we’re looking at tiny surf through next week.
