Prologue
Well it might've taken a while but the starting whistle has finally blown on the Gold Coast surf season. A large high pressure system is currently sitting over New Zealand setting up an easterly flow of wind aimed directly at northern NSW and southern Queensland. Those coasts are now flushed with three to five feet of long-lined easterly swell.
It looks like being an extended event too. So while it might have taken a while to get going it's 'game on' from here into the next few months.
Here's the action from the last three days on the Goldy. All photos by Adam Weathered.//STUART NETTLE
