Papua Part 2
It's amazing to think that a surfing destination like PNG still exists. Crowds are kept to a minimum due to a surf management plan that restricts the number of surfers in any one area. The locals on the outer islands are so friendly, welcoming and aren’t trying to rip you and your gear off every second of the day. There are amazing waves which are mostly unsurfed and unnamed north of Kavieng. Last but not least the best surf charter boat (www.pngsurfaris.com) and crew that I’ve seen operating.
With some awesome waves, Dogga, Benny, Harry, Doya, Danga, Tedi, Mocca, Crocket and I had a blast. I wonder if this is what indo was like 30 years ago?//STEVE ARKLAY
