No Place Like Home
My profession as a surf forecaster involves scouring weather maps day after day, keeping abreast of all the swells occurring across the country.
Whilst looking at the weather maps last week I saw a pattern evolving over my home state of South Australia and it instantly got me excited. It used to be that whenever I saw a frontal system clipping the state followed by a high pressure system moving in quickly behind, I'd immediately start moving my diary around to plan a surf trip further afield.
With just such a pattern lining up over the weekend I couldn't resist going back through old photo archives of the many trips I made west of Adelaide. Here are a few shots of the waves and landscape that show the raw beauty of the South Australian coastline.//CRAIG BROKENSHA
