The March long weekend in Tassie is when the state's premier surfing event takes place - the West Coast Classic. With around 140 competitors taking part, it's our biggest event on the surfing calender, now in its 34th year. Surfers and spectators come from all corners of the state. I was able to make it to the finals which were held at Bluff Reef. It was rather slow, not overly hollow and missing some size but a text book day as far as the weather goes. //Nigel Eberhardt
