Last week in Tasmania saw death defying antics going down in huge surf at Shipsterns Bluff. Yet while all that madness was happening the really death defying surfing was occurring across the bay at Tassie's small wave locations.

After all, the best way to defy death is by not driving around to Shippies and taking on the ledge. Mick Gullan did just that. Mick took these shots in far more relaxed surrounds, with gently peeling waves breaking among bucolic countryside settings.

Death can wait.
