Well, late morning actually. But in any case it's been a sterling season of waves for metropolitan surfers in the Golden State. Mike Maxted teed up a hollow beachie session with Phil "Choppa" Read, Ian "Wooly" MacPherson and Chris "Swiv" Jones 'bout a week ago - check out the results below.

This year the Perth beachies have outdone themselves. They've regularly served up solid sessions and Mike Maxted has been Johnny-on-the-spot to document it.

They say the ground has been moving this winter in Perth. The foundations of limestone shacks in Cottesloe, Scarborough, and other beachfront 'burbs have been shaking under the best season for swell in living memory.

Last weekend the West Oz coast was hit by the biggest swell of the year so far. After a day of incredible waves in Perth Mike Maxted packed up the Cessna and flew south over the coastline.
