Semifinalists were decided today at the Fiji Pro in three-to-five foot surf at Cloudbreak. An action packed day of competition saw the field narrowed to just four of the world’s best surfers as the event ran through Rounds 3, 4 and 5 and the Quarterfinals.

With a dire outlook for the second half of the waiting period the organisers of the Fiji Pro were forced to sound the horn for Round 1 of the Fiji Pro. Conditions were less than dreamy with a stiff tradewind "blowing the mussels off the rocks" as Jordy Smith said in his post heat interview.
