Watch: Supertubos in February
Recently, Rodrigo Meirelles sent Swellnet a few videos of Supertubos shot last month. Rodrigo works for Federação Portuguesa de Surf - the Portuguese Surf Federation - and the vids (shot by Miguel Montes) featured the national training squad in action. You may recognise some of the names.
Of more concern to the Swellnet audience, however, are the waves. The squad scored excellent surf at Supertubos as you can see from the vid above. The opening waves are highlights, but so too are the handful of waves after the 2:00 min mark.
Yesterday, Craig posted the long range forecast for the Meo Rip Curl Pro, and in the comments we'll keep tabs on the changing conditions as we approach the start date.

So how many times a year is it like this ?
A lot of goofies in that squad for a place known for it's right hand reefs and points.
That looks so fun. Surprising really there's not more Portuguese on tour.
The original Brazos with Euro cool but can we address the elephant in the room?
When is a claim not a claim but a 'celebration' ?
And hanging arm claims are a thing, both pre and post barrel.
But I thought the elephant in the room was Portugal's revolutionary change of the sport with the introduction of the heavy weight division..
Liked the toon.
Me too … but even in a clip with credits, no mention of the provider of the soundtrack ! I know I,ve mentioned it in other threads, but I feel for the musicians.
