That’s a very well put together edit by Tim with some beautiful images at times.

Looks great for a second when it stands up then its all fading back on a massive shoulder and chop hops? for effect ... even the good surfers are struggling to make it look good. Euro (look at me )easy big wave scene got nothing on Hawaii

To me Nazare looks like a much better wave at this size.
8-10 foot hollow spitting peaks close to shore
Always wondered what it broke like under normal conditions, much more appealing. just imagine a cleanup set though.

Genuine question - where's the money in this?
Can't imagine there'd be enough coming in via sponsorship to make big wave riding/filming a viable financial option for a life/family. Must cost a fortune to have skis and drivers at the ready, and all the kit needed for the photog crew.
How does it work?

I was wondering the same thing Stok.
Maybe there is a mainstream audience for it in Europe?

I have a feeling that the town of Nazare pays for water safety, and possibly more. Probably paid for with EU Structural Funds (slush funds for development of 'peripheral areas' of EU, and grossly plundered by local govt/businesses).
Big Wave surfing has put Nazare on the tourist map.
