Watch: Laurie and Bryce Young // Slow Lane
This clip of Laurie Towner, taken from his recently released film 'Slow Lane', shows rare footage of him experimenting with board design.
Though an undoubtedly brilliant surfer, Laurie's rarely strayed from a 6'0" squaretail Thruster, so to see him on alt equipment - hand-shaped no less - is a kick. FWIW it's a 4'10" twin keel fish.
Meanwhile, it's expected that good mate Bryce Young would be on anything but a 6'0" squaretail Thruster, and here he doesn't disappoint riding one of his own hand-shapes, plus another shaped by Ryan Burch, both with asymm outlines.
The surf is classic summertime fare from northern NSW: long roping rights with a light seabreeze for coping.
The music is 'Blow with Lau' by Headland.
'Slow Lane' is produced by needessntials.
