Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 17th January)
Best Days: Saturday morning
Recap
Wednesday's NE swell backed off into yesterday morning, while a small S'ly swell was also in the mix.
Today a better NE swell was breaking across the coast to 2ft with the odd bigger set under morning offshores.
This weekend (Jan 18 - 19)
The NE windswell should become stronger into tomorrow, peaking during the morning as a S'ly change moves through. Hit up north-east facing beaches for the cleanest and biggest waves.
Come Sunday a weak S'ly windswell is due across the coast but to no major size and with S/SE winds.
Next week onwards (Jan 20 onwards)
There's nothing major on the cards for next week besides a small and inconsistent S/SE groundswell pulse to 1-2ft Monday morning and then some long-range E/NE groundswell from Tropical Cyclone June drifting south from the Coral Sea towards and over New Zealand.
Into the end of the week some NE windswell should develop again down the coast but we'll look at this again on Monday.
