The surf bottomed out into yesterday under light variable winds, while today, the surf is again tiny with freshening N/NW breeze that will give way to a late and cool SW change.
This weekend (Jan 18 - 19)
The surf will be as bad as it gets tomorrow with a small to tiny swell and fresh onshore S/SW winds.
Sunday will be a little better with a moderate increase in W/SW and SW groundswell generated by a strong mid-latitude front turned polar frontal system and moderate S'ly tending SE winds.
Next week onwards (Jan 20 onwards)
Unfortunately Monday will continue to see onshore SE winds across the state as Sunday's SW groundswell eases.
Tuesday will be poor with a tiny swell and light but increasing SW wind.
Another small to medium sized SW groundswell is due mid-week and into Thursday but winds on Wednesday will be poor and fresh from the SE, while Thursday looks better east of Melbourne with an E/NE breeze.
Longer term, there's nothing major on the cards so try and keen up for Sunday's onshore waves.
