Best Days: Tuesday and Wednesday in semi-protected spots, Thursday morning
Recap
Tiny surf continued yesterday, while today a small pulse of S'ly swell is breaking across south swell magnets under N'ly winds.
This weekend (Jan 4 – 5)
Today's swell will fade into tomorrow and there'll be no surfable waves across the coast over the weekend. Ignore the W'ly swell to 2ft, this is a bug that should be fixed in the coming months.
Next week (Jan 6 onwards)
A vigorous mid-latitude low is expected to move across us Monday and with this we may see a small increase in S'ly swell, but in all likelihood the swell won't be south enough to impact us.
Heading into Tuesday though a secondary burst of S'ly winds up past our coast should produce a fresh increase in short-range S'ly swell for Tuesday and Wednesday but with average winds from the S'th. Still there should be a few fun waves about if you keep your expectations low.
Longer term we'll see small easing levels of SE swell into the end of the week with nothing much beyond that.
