Eastern Tasmania Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday 27th December)
Best Days: Monday - Wednesday at south swell magnets
Recap
Tiny waves continued across the coast yesterday, and the same can be said for today.
This weekend onwards (Dec 28 onwards)
Tomorrow will be average with only a small and weak increase in NE windswell expected later in the day.
Sunday will remain tiny, but an intense low pressure system sitting south of the state should kick up some fun S'ly swell for Monday.
A fetch of gale to severe-gale SW winds will be generated on the edge of our swell window (pictured right) producing a good pulse of S'ly groundswell for Monday reaching 3ft at south swell magnets during the day under fresh W/NW winds. Open beaches will be much smaller and in the 1-2ft range.
The swell will drop rapidly overnight though with the low weakening to our south and then moving off to the east.
Longer term there's nothing significant on the cards but check back here on Monday for the latest on this.
