Might as well put this up in the politics subforum, to spare the front page. It's 18 months away or so, but here we go.

This is how Dutton wins:

Are you saying these foreign actors can drown out US propaganda……….i don’t think that’s a correct appraisal.

@gs-co “A lot of the anti-West and anti-US etc views we see within Western countries nowadays are due to Chinese and Russian foreign interference and social media bots.”

Nothing to do with the West treating any smaller neighbour/allie contemptuously, trickle down diplomacy? The Brit’s did it to us, the US now do it to Australia and like a bullied child we do it to our smaller neighbours. East Timor comes immediately to mind. No need for your boogeyman propaganda. Our government takes its orders from the pros.

Here's an article from 2020, when #comradedutton was home affairs minister, and his fat mouth caused BILLIONS of dollars damage to the Australian economy, when China retaliated to Spuds "simp for trump" comments where he attacked China demanding "transparency" over covid. It was these comments by Temu Donald Dutton that got our beef smashed, our seafood smashed, cotton, coal, Wine, Barley, wood etc etc etc, via sanctions. Farmers, lobster fishos, wine makers went broke. Suicides.
The Masses don't realize that over the past 2 years, a Labor senator Named Don Farrell has worked tirelessly alongside Albo, and has got ALL chinese sanctions and tariffs lifted. Could you imagine the trumpet blowing and self congratulatory pats on the back, and 10am press conferences in parliament house gardens , with 15 Aussie flags in the back ground, if it was the coalition with Scomo and Dutton?

We've just seen Temu Donald Dutton mouth off again, like he did at the Chinese Government, this time putting words into the Indonesian Presidents mouth. Dutton is a danger to our country.

In reality Sheepdog, everything the Coalition touches turns to shit,

They changed housing from a purchase to an investment via Howard's CGT concessions and allowing property to be incorporated into SMSF's.

Started importing people en masse without any consideration to infrastructure.

Gave away our resources tax free to China etc.

Obstructed the transition to renewable energy, after selling of our generators.

Stuffed up the Murray Darling Basin, though Angus did ok out of it.

Etc, etc, etc.

And now he's managed to piss off the Indonesians.

Dear Mr pirate, if your standing at a fence and see a big angry bear ,and a foreigner comes along and gives you a big stick to poke the bear with…..don’t poke the bear……Let the foreigner poke the bear himself……because he will just want the bear to chase you instead of him……
In the foreigners mindset , he will use you to try and make the bear tired……
But if the bear dosent get tired …..and just gets angrier your in deep shit.
You can call on others who don’t like bears to bail you out, ….
….but the bear has friends like dragons and other animals.
So the best thing to do…..is not poke bears….even if other people want you to….
Take note Albo.

Thanks for the fairytale opti.

I know that you’re into fairy tales as a basis for decision making in your life, but the reality is that they’re not a great basis for international politics.

Since you’re so firmly of the view that Ukraine provoked this invasion (actually 3 phased invasion), maybe you’ve got non-fairy tale way of explaining it? Even if there were grounds for disagreements between states, since when has bombing cities been an OK way to resolve it?

Seems to me that the provocation was refusal to cede territory and sovereignty. I can’t see a single territorial claim that Ukraine has made over Russian territory over the last 40 years.

But, old ground. I don’t think you think too much about it tbh. That’s the beauty of belief systems hey. You don’t need to.

define 'unfavourable treatment'

I used to work with a muslim guy, good dude, straight up ozzie on the exterior. but the guy would never ever ever shut up that work wouldn't let him have fridays off to go to the mosque... relentless...

unfavourable treatment... yeh possibly, but bad luck...

as to your indo example, ask any bule living in indo if they ever experience 'unfavourable treatment?

the answer... hell yeh! everyday...

ask any christian living in any predominantly muslim village in java...

ask any christian living in ambon...

ask a hindu living in java...

ask a muslim living next to ht's...

ask any non muslim living near medewi...

sorry, but welcome to the real world

good onya for caring and stuff... but this hating on 'racist' australia stuff is just totally misplaced and tiresome

yeh there's some miserable racists around, but this 'australua is full of racist bogans' narrative is plain bullshit

I feel similar, ive got little interest in this election, two very uninspiring leaders and there is no way history is going to be made and labor loses after one term (hasn't happened since 1930's)

The "ball game" election will be held at the end (constitutionally anyway) of Trump's presidency so anything could happen between now and then both internationally and domestically. Australians have traditionally liked their politics in the centre +/- left/right as witnessed with Dutton's fall in the polls because of justified concerns about the LNP copying the Trump agenda.

If Labor win this election as is highly likely who will lead the LNP and in which direction? It is not as if they have any talent in their ranks. They find themselves increasingly the party of political and religious conservatives and the drift to the (far) right seemingly will continue so where will the seats ever come from in the future to form government, certainly not current Teal seats. No, if Labor don't screw up in a major way they are looking at another 2-3+ terms in power unless the Liberals reverse their current direction. I'm not saying that is necessarily a good thing but that's how I see it playing out atm.

Icing on the cake would be Dutton losing his seat and a proper investigation into some of his alleged shady dealings.....

That Labor didn't go harder with NACC is their biggest let down in my view.

They would have taken some hits, but not as much as the LNP, looking at you Angus, and would have set up the political situation in Australia with less corruption..

Although most politicians lie to a certain extent he is someone who has continually made shit up and then uses those lies to attack someone or some group to score points. He laughs about islands going under water and people losing their homes for fuck sake. He's a man who hides behind constant distractions because there's nothing else of substance about him. He's a lying vicious cunt with zero compassion or interest in anyone outside of his narrow idea of acceptability or is not of any use to his ambitions and anyone who thinks he's a suitable person to be running the country needs their head read.
