So if DOGE and Musk aren't doing as we are told and as all seem's, reducing government wastage, then what is this thing that im not privy too and will eventually catch up on?

As for Guy, there is not one positive thing he has added to this thread, it's all negative it's all hating on Elon, just because he avoid's using the word hate, doesn't mean he is not a hater, he is 100% a hater he get's off on hating.

So no conspiracy theory…let’s leave that there then.

Am I right to assume you believe Musk is there for benevolent reasons? His motive is 100% to do good with no real selfish or self serving benefits to himself or his business interests?

Would he excuse himself of any conflicts of interest? He is sacrificing own interest to put the interests of all Americans above everything else?

Tesla hasn’t paid a dividend; isn’t making a profitable margin on each car purchased however relies on government subsidies for the installation of its charging infrastructure, green credits payments from other car manufacturers and paper profits from its investment in bitcoin to artificially boost its balance sheet earnings all of which are not sustainable in the medium to long term … and sales worldwide are plummeting !!

Elon is a type of a guy who would sack his workers for getting a second job elsewhere. But he’s got no issues holding multiple CEO roles plus this doge role, all at the same time. That’s just humanely impossible. He had a great early start with Tesla but he is completely neglecting the company. He should be immediately sacked from the CEO position.

Can we agree that the concept of DOGE is good and that cutting wastage and spending is a good thing?

If so basically your issue is not DOGE but only that Elon is overseeing things?

Personally i think Elon is perfect for the Job, he showed what is possible with Twitter, he clearly knows how to cut the fat that is needed and his success show's he is one of the world's best businessmen.

The dudes the richest (or one of) the richest guy's in the world, and has shown he isn't just motivated by making money otherwise he wouldn't have bought twitter or be building rockets or even getting involved in politics, he would just be keeping quiet and just taking a political neutral position, this would benefit him more financially and he is very smart he knows this.

The reality is 99.9% of what DOGE is dealing with doesn't affect Elons business ventures and he is only an advisor of sorts, end of the day it's not him who decides on things.

Is there a conflict of interest in that other 0.1%,? (like often in. politics)

Maybe, but even if he was to suggest a change of some things in his favour it doesn't mean the changes aren't warranted and he wouldn't have needed to get involved in the whole DOGE thing, im sure endorsing Trump would have been enough.

BTW The problem here is changes that do happen in his favour that will confirm to you your view point are likely to be warranted as while Biden was pro EV, he wasn't very supportive of Telsla to the point he even totally ignored inviting Tesla to the Biden's electric vehicle summit back in 2021 when its obvious that Telsla especially at that time would have been the first EV company you would invite, and it wasn't the only time, all through his term he tried to pretend that Tesla didnt even exist when it was the biggest RV company in the USA, so yeah you would expect more government support would and should happen from the USA government.

Just an example of how petty and anti Telsa Biden was

The concept of DOGE is good, that’s why they already had a bipartisan government department investigating waste fraud and corruption. . The 17 Inspector General’s that were indiscriminately fired were part of this trained department.
That’s why Elon and DOGE are the corruption.

but he's not the ceo of toyota is he?

lamest example ever...

mr. ceo toyota is on wages, to do a job

elon is so on the nose because his situation is the exact opposite, he's built all this stuff up because he's smart - aspergers otherworldly weirdly smart...

clearly doesn't need the money, yet he chooses to do what he's doing...

only a incompetent, ideologically bankrupted and corrupted party would turn down such an opportunity

still highly likely a 'sociopathic' - like a large percentage of ceo's... a fact...

but pretty shit example jeffy

as to the chainsaws and ketamine - I like that shit - good on him, only time we see some personality from the asperg iceberg cyborg

I don't like the guy, think he's a fuckwit, but if ya got a job to do... a job(s) like he has to do...

quite often the biggest fuckwit is the best guy guy for the job - as his results show...

once again, the fake left just show their rank hypocrisy... he was their biblical star before, his big battery is SA is a fine example, back when he was still in favour...

I think the left are just all bitter and twisted because its now their policy is to hire dumb fucks, dumb, compliant and servile

then the likes of AOC have the gall to call elon dumb...

errr... ok brains...

(she really ain't that bright - disappointingly so)

and then there's something like 75% of voters approve of doge...

keep flogging that dead doge boys!

I showed an example where it shows how silly tariffs are…you, because of a complete lack of basic economic/supply chain/logistics knowledge interpreted it how you thought it was. You are continuing to show an uneducated opinion.

You are not even close to understanding what is happening, Indo.

indo-dreaming's picture
indo-dreaming's picture
indo-dreaming Sunday, 9 Mar 2025 at 6:21pm

Whatever dude your example was perfect, especially because lobster is a luxury item and not an everyday necessity.

With tariffs you would end up with two scenarios.

1. You have the tariffs and the lobsters still get's processed in Canada and the government(or both) raises revenue from the tariffs and yes the consumers pay's more for a luxury item mostly by people that can afford to pay more.

2. You have the tariffs which then makes it more viable to process the lobster back in the USA which create more jobs, and yes the consumer still pays more for the lobster, but again it's a luxury item.

flollo's picture
flollo's picture
flollo Sunday, 9 Mar 2025 at 6:22pm

Indo, overall the demand for lobster will probably drop as it’s too expensive. That’s the point, there is less lobster being sold on both sides. So the revenue drops together with margins. This is what many experts are suggesting and what the share market more broadly is pricing in.

Except that other countries are strong arming

flip flopping, tariff on tariff off , which is just as damaging to the economy because of uncertainty.
