Hey Jules

Not always slow .

Perhaps my research is stuffed , but there WILL be another debate .

Perhaps U should check ?

Kamala spent weeks getting prepared for the First Debate , did nothing else .

It showed as she looked good and got under Trumps skin , cool , it's not a hard thing 2 do .

Trump knew the Debate was on Harris turf .

He underestimated Harris and , as he always does , blames others if he stuffs up .

Trump only needs 1 Rematch .

Trump hates being humiliated .

Remember Obama making Fun of Trump , as Obama was President and Trump wasn't .

Trump sure has made Obama eat Humble Pie , 4 THAT comment .

Trump will not underestimate Harris twice !

He will stop giving interviews , 4 a few days and will be in tip top shape , 4 The Rematch .

Trump doesn't have to give Harris a Rematch , after The Rematch .

That wasn't in the Program and would be silly .

I think Trump would have been better off not doing the last debate, and risk being called
a fraidycat.
So I don’t think he’ll make the same mistake again, but who knows.

Trump can do what he wants to do ,
He could have done no debates at all
with Harris
and everything would have still been
wonderful in MAGA land

Why are supafreaks and Jelly Flaters posts on the last page ok?
Is it just the lack of commentary
Or is there a certain definition of outrage

1) Not sure really.
2) Yes it's the lack of commentary. If you've got something to say, then say it....or, you know, type it.
3) Depends what mood you get me in.

Hope that clears things up for you.

The US deficit is approaching $2 trillion, around 7% of the GDP for 2024. That’s bigger than the whole Australian economy. These are extraordinary numbers and no one seems to care. You would expect some talk about it considering the elections, inflation…But no, there is nothing. Truly weird times. Looks like Covid style of spending never stopped in the US.

https://www.reuters.com/markets/us/us-treasury-reports-380-billion-augus...

Also, some great info on below link. Interest alone is more than a trillion.

‘As of August 2024 it costs $1049 billion to maintain the debt, which is 17% of the total federal spending in fiscal year 2024.’

Is that a trick question ?

All Debts have 2B PAID , eventually .

Have a look at the Interest the USA and Australia , pay daily .

The question perhaps is , WHY do some governments try and show sensible fiscal restraint and others spend like Drunken soldiers .

Pissing Money all over the place and leaving the Mess , 4 someone else 2 Clean Up .

Look at the extreme measures Javier Milei is having to implement , 2 clean up the Fiscal Mess in Argentina .

Why don't U stop being a Dipstick and google " How do governments pay down debt " ?

There are a gazillion articles 4 U2 choose from .

U sound a WEF sort of Guy , perhaps start with their view ?

There are a gazillion examples of how governments have done it as well .

I gave U the example of Argentina ffs .

Piss off , please !

I don’t need google to know what represents good fiscal policy and how government should work down debt @PD but here’s more homework for your peabrain look at the rise of government debt coinciding with the rise of neoliberalism, there’s charts going back to before the clusterF to the current day … now get back to the playpen

That would B really interesting !!!

Stupid me , I am hoping to start with them slowing down Spending a bit .

Add in a Balance Sheet , some charts and maybe a video haha , but make it an Exec Summary , not a clusterF of Information ffs !

hello soggy

That's just ONE side of a Balance Sheet .

Kamala has Plans to Increase Taxation , but Doesn't have any plan 2 pay down debt , that's a Mess 4 others 2 worry about .

Kamala approved , with her deciding vote on the Inflation Reduction Act , to get the US IRS 87000 new agents .

Her Taxation of Unrealised Capital Gains , IF approved is not only Ground Breaking , but Economy Breaking , in many commentators view .

The Government spending in the US went bananas with Covid .

With Biden , debt has gone Crazy .

There is a limit 2 how much Tax , any government can levy on it's citizens .

Unfortunately , there seems No Spending Limits , 4 Politicians .

soggydog's picture

It’s about who you tax and how much for what you’re taxing. I’m not talking about increasing the pressure on the working class to balance budgets. They’re already doing the heavy lifting. I’m talking the correct tax on corporations. World wide.

I’m not getting into Trump Kamala. Both absolutely shit options and that should be the discussion. Not who is less shit.

And it was DJT who handed out tax cuts to the wealthy, but don’t worry mrs K will get her turn if elected.

Absolute shit show,

And go you anti war protesters in Melbourne. Give ‘em shit.

Other side of the balance sheet would be get out of Ukraine, stop funding Isreal and decrease the disposable income to the security state. ( who works on behalf of the big corps who dodge tax. Win win.). We all knows it.

been struggling to understand our new system of funny money for quite a while now...

thought I'd gotten a basic grasp on it

then I watched this...

https://m.

&pp=ygURSG93IGlzIG1vbmV5IG1hZGU%3D

my gawwwds... our modern modern tumult (MMT) is worse than I thought!

basic takeaways:

the reserve banks barely - if not, not at all - set the amount of $$$ printed - contrary to what my basic misunderstanding led me to believe...

cutting money supply comes with all sorts of problems

we're in way too deep to back out!

ie. we're cooked!

my limited understanding - these money gurus are more on 'the left' side of politics than right, seems they're dubious about MMT... but argue little alternative - so guardrails for money printing (spending) is their only solution...

(this vid probably supports a frown's funny money perspective more than popd's... but I'm still keen on a balance sheet... for other reasons... ie. devaluing of currency, and confidence)

long vid, but I'd be curious what you more knowledgeable market guys think about it all?

Looks interesting going to have to give it a view, but clicking on it 1hr & 40 mins i think some other time.

The most frustrating thing about any spending/debt from any governing be it local councils, state or federal government is just how much money is wasted and how little bang for buck they get,
