Padang Padang

Early Season Balinese Perfection

During the Easter weekend, as every surfable coastline in Australia was hit by swell, Indonesia received its first significant swell of the season. Bali-based photographer, Mick Curley, spent two days driving around his island home shooting the waves from huge Outside Corner (that's Jim Banks in the first shot) to perfect Padang Padang and all the usual suspects on the Bukit. Mick also shot a few lesser known rights during the swell. We'll leave you to guess where they are.

Late in the Game

Nick Sheffield recently returned from Bali where he lucked into a late season Padang Padang swell. The fickle but hollow left was pumping at 4-6 foot with a relatively small crew on it, one of them Australian-born, Hawaiian-raised barrel rider extraordinaire, Jamie O'Brien.

Nick parked himself in the channel shooting JOB and others on a classic Padang day.
