This weekend and next week (Nov 24 - 30)
There's been no real change to the weekend's poor outlook, with the surf due to remain small to tiny along with onshore winds.
A weak surface trough will move in just before dawn tomorrow across the South West, bringing SW winds, tending W'ly through the day. Perth and Mandurah should be clean early but tiny.
A very slight increase in mid-period SW swell energy is due Sunday and Monday morning, but not above 3-4ft in the South West, tiny to the north.
Winds will remain onshore out of the S/SW across the South West, possibly variable early morning to the north.
Winds look to improve slightly across Margs Monday morning and tend more S'ly (possibly S/SE at times), but with the small swell, there'll be very limited quality surfing options.
Tuesday will be clean with a light to moderate E/SE offshore though the swell will be small and easing from 3ft max at swell magnets across Margs.
We should finally see a bit more swell mid-late week as a couple of better polar storms strengthen in our swell window.
The first should develop just east of Heard Island and produce a good fetch of strong to near gale-force W/SW winds in our south-western swell window.
A mid-period SW swell will be generated, building Wednesday and reaching 4-6ft across the South West, 1-2ft in Mandurah and 1-1.5ft in Perth through the afternoon.
A secondary stronger and more elongated polar front should produce a fetch of W/SW gales which will then project north-east towards us mid-week before weakening on approach Thursday.
A larger longer-period SW groundswell is due off this front for Friday coming in around 8ft+ at this stage across the South West, 2-3ft in Mandurah and 2ft Perth.
Winds on Wednesday afternoon with be onshore with sea breezes, with S'ly winds on Thursday in between swells and then less than ideal though workable S/SE winds Friday.
We'll have another look at all of this on Monday though. Have a great weekend away from surfing!
