Western Australia Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 5th May)

Best Days: Perth Tuesday morning, Margs every morning

This week (May 5 - 8)

Our large mix of SW and S/SW groundswell should ease back over the coming days and there's nothing major on the cards at all this week with the storm track being focussed into SA and Victoria.

Winds will slowly improve but unfortunately tomorrow doesn't look as good as it was going to be in the South West.

A persistent S/SW'ly will limit the best waves to protected locations in the South West as the swell eases from 6-8ft with the possibility of the odd bigger one at dawn. Perth will be cleaner with a SE breeze, possibly tending E/SE at times while Gero should E/SE winds as the swell eases from 4-5ft.

Into the rest of the week Perth will become tiny but conditions will be excellent with offshore winds.

A more variable breeze is due Wednesday around Margs as the swell eases from 3-5ft.

Thursday will be the cleanest day around Margs with a morning E/NE'ly and 3-4ft of swell. Winds will go funky into Friday as the swell continues to hold into that 3-4ft range.

Into the weekend the swell will remain small with the next significant increase due the following weekend. We'll have a closer look at this on Wednesday though.
