Recap
There’s been no surf of note with the East Coast offering the best chance for a wave.
This weekend and next week (Dec 28 - Jan 2)
Today’s passing frontal system should kick up a late pulse of W/SW swell today to 1-2ft but the quick burst of strong to gale-force W’ly winds will abate overnight leaving tiny 1-1.5ft waves into tomorrow morning.
Conditions will be clean under a N/NW offshore remaining clean into early afternoon ahead of late, weak sea breezes.
Come the afternoon and Sunday morning, tiny 1-1.5ft waves will continue thanks to a tiny mid-period W/SW swell arriving from a weak frontal system moving in under the Bight today.
Winds will again be great Sunday, gusty N’th before shifting W/NW late morning and W/SW into the afternoon.
Monday looks clean also but tiny with late sea breezes.
Looking at the middle to end of the week and the W’ly swells due Wednesday/Thursday/Friday have been upgraded in size with dual lows moving in from the west now expected to be a little stronger.
This should produce two successive pulses of W/SW energy, the first being mid-period in nature and arriving through Wednesday, building into the afternoon/evening and peaking Thursday morning with a stronger groundswell pulse for later Thursday/Friday.
Wednesday afternoon's/Thursday’s swell only looks to be 2ft or so on the sets with later Thursday/Friday’s coming in at a better 2-3ft.
Local winds on Thursday look average with a strong W/SW tending S/SW breeze as the swell generating systems move under us, best Friday with light morning offshores ahead of sea breezes.
Longer term there’s nothing major on the cards yet but more on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
