Recap
Tiny waves for beginners yesterday with a light onshore breeze, a bit better this morning with a peak in W/SW swell and light offshore winds. Sea breezes have now impacted the coast.
This week and weekend (Jan 12 - 15)
Looking at tomorrow and a trough will unfortunately bring a shallow S/SW change as the current energy eases, dropping from 1-1.5ft with fresher S/SE afternoon sea breezes.
Friday will be tiny but cleaner with a light W/NW offshore ahead of S/SE sea breezes.
The weekend will then be tiny, though a weak fetch of W/NW winds moving through our swell window tomorrow should keep 1ft waves hitting Clifton both Saturday and Sunday.
A gusty N/NE tending strong E/NE breeze will create tricky conditions on Saturday while a trough is due to bring a strong S/SW change around dawn Sunday, kicking up some localised windswell.
The low attached to this change should generate some fun SW swell for Monday though, with a short-lived fetch of strong to gale-force W/SW winds due to generate a spike to 2-3ft. The swell will ease rapidly through the day and fade from 1-2ft on Tuesday.
Winds should improve rapidly on Monday, swinging E/NE and then strengthening through the day. This won't be ideal for Clifton but there should be options.
Longer term some secondary mid-period W/SW swell is likely later week but we'll have a closer look at this on Friday.
