Tiny run of surf
Southern Tasmanian Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday January 9th)
Best Days: Wednesday morning, beginners Thursday and Friday mornings
Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)
- Tiny inconsistent W/SW swell for tomorrow with S winds, easing Wed with N tending stronger E/NE winds
- Easing surf Thu and Fri with variable morning winds ahead of sea breezes
Recap
Tiny but clean conditions Saturday, ideal for beginners near flat yesterday and this morning.
This week and weekend (Jan 10 - 15)
Unfortunately the coming period isn't too special swell wise, with the storm track sitting a little too far north and west than ideal, while a couple of weak fronts that are now moving into a better position, south of the Bight are quite weak in nature.
Tiny pulses of W/SW swell are due tomorrow and Wednesday, likely to 1-1.5ft across Clifton along with average S'ly winds lingering in the wake of a S'ly change today, cleaner Wednesday with moderate N tending strong E/NE winds.
The surf will fade into the end of the week, slowed by the weak activity currently moving in from the west and this will be ideal for beginners during the mornings with clean conditions ahead of sea breezes.
Longer term there's nothing too significant on the cards (besides a possible fun swell next Wednesday) so check the East Coast forecaster notes for more options.
