Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)

  • Small SE swell tomorrow with light W/NW tending S/SE winds, then E/NE late
  • Tiny Sun with N tending fresh E/NE winds
  • Building S windswell Wed with strong SW tending S winds
  • Stormy S/SE swell Thu through Sun next weekend with strong S/SW-S/SE winds

Recap

Another day of poor, sloppy waves to 2-3ft yesterday, smaller and back to 2ft today.

Bumpy sets to 2ft today

This weekend and next week (Dec 10 – 16)

We'll finally see the surf cleaning up into tomorrow, but size wise, there'll just be a tiny, 1-1.5ft wave out of the SE (good for bigger boards). More exposed spots down the South Arm will see some sightly bigger SE energy, and the East Coast will be bigger again, thanks to a broad, stalling low in the Tasman Sea.

Winds are due to ease and tend light W/NW in the morning, giving into afternoon S/SE sea breezes, then tending E/NE on dark.

Moderate N tending fresher E/NE winds are due into Sunday but swell wise, the surf looks to hold 1ft thanks to a tiny W/SW swell.

The outlook for early next week remains tiny until a deepening trough moves across us, initially weakening before forming into a strong low directly off our East Coast.

This will bring persistent onshore winds from the S/SW-S/SE and building levels of stormy S/SE swell from Thursday through all next weekend, easing into the following week as winds ease.

We'll have a closer look at this on Monday though. Have a great weekend!
