Recap

Plenty of size to 3ft yesterday morning but with deteriorating winds and conditions as a cold front clipped the state. The swell become solid into the late afternoon and evening with a new SW groundswell filling in but with poor conditions.

This morning the swell was much cleaner and a good 3ft+ across Clifton early, easing through the day and now bumpy with sea breezes.

Solid and clean this AM

This weekend and next week (Dec 3 – 9)

Our current swell will continue to ease back in size through this afternoon and tomorrow, coming in at a small 1-2ft across Clifton. Conditions will be clean through the morning with a N'ly wind, average into the afternoon with sea breezes.

Moving into Sunday it looks like we'll see tiny surf with variable winds in the morning ahead of sea breezes.

Our new pulse of mid-period swell for the afternoon has unfortunately been downgraded a touch, with the front linked to it forming a little later and directly south-west of us.

This will result in fun but smaller 2ft surf into Sunday afternoon with the sea breezes, easing from 1-2ft on Monday morning.

Unfortunately a surface trough deepening just east of us on Monday will bring poor, strengthening S/SE winds on Monday, creating poor conditions but also kicking up a localised S/SE windswell.

The windswell is due to peak Tuesday morning with sets to 2-3ft, easing through the day as winds remain strong from the S'th. Wednesday looks cleaner but tiny and easing from 1ft.

Looking at the rest of the week, and a moderate sized W/SW groundswell is due on Thursday, generated by a strong low forming to the south-southwest of Western Australia on Sunday.

A great fetch of severe-gale W/SW winds will be generated, with a good 3ft of W/SW groundswell due to peak on Thursday. The only issue are the local winds, which look to swing onshore shortly after dawn, but we'll confirm this on Monday.

Longer term there's nothing major on the cards besides a possible stormy SE swell, More on this Monday. Have a great weekend!
