Fade into nothing
Southern Tasmanian Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Friday June 17th)
Best Days: Tomorrow, early Sunday for the keen
Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)
- Inconsistent, easing SE groundswell tomorrow with variable offshore tending variable winds
- Fading Sun with mod N-N/NE tending strong NE winds
Recap
Small but fun yesterday while today our strong, inconsistent SE groundswell has filled in with strong sets to the 3ft+ range across Clifton. Spots further down the Arm have seen better size.
This weekend and next week (Jun 18 - 24)
The current, inconsistent SE groundswell has peaked and we'll see it easing in size over the weekend, with fading 2-3ft sets tomorrow, mostly tiny Sunday and 1-1.5ft with the possible rare 2ft'er at dawn.
Owing to the south-east direction spots further down the Arm will see larger sets. Winds will be a little funky tomorrow but variable offshore across most spots and then variable into the afternoon.
Sunday will see moderate N-N/NE winds, stronger NE into the afternoon which isn't ideal for the SE energy.
Unfortunately there's not much to talk abut next week with the storm track being focussed up and into Western Australia, too far north of our swell window.
The next increase in size looks to arrive next weekend out of the west, but we'll have a closer look at this on Monday. Check the East Coast notes this evening for more options. Have a great weekend!
