All action to our east
Southern Tasmania Surf Forecast by Craig Brokensha (issued Monday 22nd March)
Best Days: No good days
Features of the Forecast (tl;dr)
- Tiny surf until late next week
Recap
Clean, fun 1-2ft waves on Saturday across Clifton, similar Sunday with a new pulse of swell filling in Saturday afternoon.
Today we've got clean conditions again but tiny, fading surf ideal for beginners and bigger boards.
This week and weekend (Mar 23 - 28)
The coming week and also next are looking void of any major swell activity as we fall in between favourable swell generating patterns.
A slight kick in size shown tomorrow is from a poorly aligned, distant source and I wouldn't expect anything over 1ft across Clifton.
A mid-latitude low that was forecast to form west-southwest of us during the week, bringing some swell late week is now forming under Western Australia, north of our swell window. No size at all is due from this source.
Into the weekend we'll remain void of any major surf and our next increase in size is likely later next week, but we'll have a closer look at this in the coming updates.
On the other hand the East Coast will see a large, powerful swell event developing over the coming days so check out the updated notes in the coming hours.
